Office Macros and VBA Code Disabled

Macro and VBA code enabled Office documents are a significant threat vector for threat actors. Attackers can embed malware inside of Office documents such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. The University has decided to take the posture to disable these functions in Office documents. 

If you see an error message similar to the one below then there are possibly macros embedded in your document.

  • Microsoft Office has identified a potential security concern.
    or
  • Macros in this document have been disabled by your enterprise administrator for security reasons.
