Universal Print is a Microsoft app that allows Mac users to easily connect to campus printers from BSU-owned and personal Apple devices.
This app requires MacOS 13.3 (Ventura) or newer.
INSTALLATION
- Personal Devices:
- Download and install app from App Store.
- BSU-Owned Devices:
- App is pushed out and install automatically from Jamf on all managed devices.
USER SETUP
First time accessing the app, the user must allow Universal Print to add a System Settings pane.
Click Allow.
Universal Print will be visible at the bottom of the System Settings pane.
Click on Universal Print to open the settings for printers.
Click the Sign In button.
- Personal devices will require log in with BSU credentials and MFA.
- BSU-owned devices will pass through existing BSU credentials.
Status should change to “Connected.”
Click on “Add Printer…” button.
Click on “Search by printer location” link.
Click on building name to show list of printers for that location.
Place checkmark next to the printer you want to install.
Click “Add” button.
Printer should be listed in the main window.
Print as usual. Universal printer drivers allow most features.
Double-sided (duplex) printing needs to be turned on. That feature is set to off by default.
