BLACKBOARD: How to upload an entire folder of items

Summary

Sometimes you may have several files to upload to your Blackboard course site. Rather than uploading a single document over and over, you can create a compressed .zip file and upload all the documents at once.

Body

If you have multiple files to upload to your Blackboard Ultra course, you don’t need to upload them one by one. Instead, you can compress them into a .zip file and upload them all at once.

Step-by-Step: Uploading a Folder of Files

1. Create a .zip File

  • On Windows:

    • Place all items in a folder.

    • Right-click the folder > select Send to... > Compressed (zipped) folder.

  • On Mac:

    • Right-click (or CMD + Click) the folder > select Compress.

  • The .zip file will be created in the same location as the original folder.

2. Upload to Blackboard Ultra

  1. Log in to your Blackboard Ultra course.

  2. Click the plus (+) sign where you want to add content.

  3. Choose Create > Folder, give it a name, and click Save.

  4. Open the newly created folder.

  5. Click the plus (+) again and select Content Collection.

  6. In the pop-up, choose Open in same window.

  7. Click Browse Content Collection.

  8. Hover over Upload at the top and select Upload Zip Package.

  9. Click Browse Local Files, choose your .zip file, and click Submit.

  10. Click the folder name, check off the files you want, and click Submit to add them to your course.
