The steps and videos below provide instructions on how to record videos and screen recordings on Padlet.  

Recording a Video in Padlet

1. Open Padlet:

   • Go to your Padlet board and click the “+” button at the bottom right corner to create a new post.

2. Select Video Recorder:

   • In the post options, click on the “More attachment types” button (+12) and select “Video Recorder”.
   • Allow Padlet to access your webcam and microphone if prompted.

3. Record Your Video:

   • Click the “Record” button to start recording your video.
   • Once you are done, click “Pause”.
   • You can Playback your recording and click “Save” if you are satisfied with it. If not, you can discard and re-start.

4. Publish Your Video:

   • After saving, click “Publish” to add your video to the Padlet board.

Recording While Sharing Screen to Show a PowerPoint

1. Prepare Your PowerPoint:

   • Open your PowerPoint presentation and make sure it is ready to be presented.

2. Install Padlet Chrome Extension:

   • Download and install the Padlet Mini Chrome extension to enable screen recording.

3. Start a New Post in Padlet:

   • Go to your Padlet board and click the “+” button to create a new post.

4. Select Screen Recorder:

   • Click on the “More attachment types” button (+12) and select “Screen Recorder”.  ***(See note below if this isn't working for you)
   • Choose the screen or window you want to share (select your PowerPoint window).

5. Record Your Screen and Narration:

   • Click “Share” to start recording your screen.
   • Begin your PowerPoint presentation and narrate as you go through the slides.
   • When you are done, stop the recording.

6. Save and Publish:

   • Review your recording and click “Save” if you are satisfied.
   • Click “Publish” to add your screen recording to the Padlet board.

*** NOTE: If nothing happens when you click the arrow to initiate the screen recorder, Click the "Open in New" button in the upper right corner of the screen to expand the Padlet in a new tab or window outside of Blackboard.  This seems to alleviate the problem.
