This article explains how to record or upload a video in Blackboard Ultra. Students can add videos when submitting an assignment or posting in a discussion. Use the record icon in the text editor toolbar to record a new video or upload an existing one, then click Submit or Post to complete your submission.

Submit a Video to an Assignment

  1. Open your course and click the assignment.
  2. In the submission area, click inside the text box.
  3. On the toolbar above the text box, click the record icon (labeled Audio/Video).
  4. Choose to:
    • Record a new video using your camera/microphone, or
    • Upload a video you already created.
  5. When finished, click Save Video.
  6. Scroll down and click Submit.
  7. Confirm submission by noting the submission confirmation number.

Post a Video in a Discussion

  1. Open the discussion topic.
  2. In the reply box, type any text you want to include.
  3. On the toolbar above the text box, click the video camera icon (Audio/Video).
  4. Record a new video or upload one from your device.
  5. Click Post to publish your reply.
  6. To respond to a classmate, click Reply and repeat the steps above.
