Learn how to add Microsoft 365 cloud and collaborative documents to Blackboard Ultra using Content Market, manage student access, and reconnect documents created with the retired Microsoft OneDrive integration.

Overview

You can add Microsoft 365 files, including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and PDFs, to your Blackboard Ultra course using the Microsoft Education integration.

Choose the option that matches how you want students to use the file:

  • Microsoft Education Content: Share files students can view but not edit.
  • Microsoft Education Collaboration: Share documents students can edit and work on together.

Adding Microsoft 365 Files

  1. Navigate to the location in your Blackboard Ultra course where you want to add the file.

  2. Select the plus sign (+) and choose Content Market.

  3. Locate and select Microsoft Education Content or Microsoft Education Collaboration, depending on how students should use the file.

  4. If this is your first time using Microsoft Education in the course, select Continue setup, leave the default settings unchanged, and select Done. Allow a moment for the setup to complete.

  5. Select Select Existing Document to locate a file in OneDrive, or create a new document by choosing a document type and entering a name.

  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to add the file to your course.

Tip: Once the file is added, select the item's three-dot menu (...) > Edit to change its displayed name or add a description.

Additional Information

Collaborative Word documents can be edited directly in Blackboard using Word Online. Students may need to switch from Viewing to Editing mode. Changes are saved automatically.
