Summary
These devices cannot be used on the IOT Network, but we still may need the information to get the MAC Address for other purposes.
These devices should connect to the BSU_Gadgets wireless network while in the residence halls.
Body
The devices listed below belong on the BSU_Gadgets wireless network in the residence halls and typically do not require us to get the MAC address. But if we do need it, here are some simple instructions on how to get it.
The MAC Address is the device specific address used to identify the device and give permissions to each device to access the network thus controlling access and making the network more secure. We also require MAC Addresses for firewall port requests so customers may need instructions for that as well.
MAC Addresses have the format of twelve hexadecimal numbers and should look like this: 00:0D:0A:1H:3G:5C
