Visitor Identification Policy (Requirements)

Information pertaining to the acceptable forms of identification needed for visitors to be signed into the residence halls.

Identification (ID) Policy

In order to sign a visitor into your residence hall, you need to make sure that they have proper identification, so that they can present it to the safety staff at the front entrance.  If your visitor does not have the proper identification, they will not be allowed to visit the residence hall.

Acceptable Forms of ID:
Resident students and Commuter students must have their BSU Connect Card to enter a building or to be signed in as a visitor.
Non-student visitor(s) must present a valid photo ID with the individual's full name and date of birth on it. The following types of identification are acceptable:

  • Passport
  • State ID card
  • Military ID card
  • Driver’s license
  • Liquor ID

Other forms of valid photo ID may be used only with valid supplemental documentation that proves date of birth
A valid ID will have to be in good standing, not expired.
