BSU Transit Service was founded on ​January 17th, 1984.

BSU TRANSIT - Home


BSU Transit offers free and continuous on-campus transportation (as well as the Route 28 into Brockton 4 times a day) to all members of the BSU Community in an effort to:
- Provide safe, efficient, and courteous passenger service
- Achieve fuel conservation and reduction of traffic congestion on campus
- Provide part-time student employment and management experience
- Increase student mobility and campus security
- Increase utilization of mass transportation


HOURS OF OPERATION:
MON - FRI 7:00AM - 12:00AM
SAT - SUN 6:00PM - 12:00AM

 
**Please note that inclement weather, vehicle maintenance, and heavy traffic conditions may affect the times listed on the schedules. All vehicles are mobility device accessible.

Student Operations Manager: 
Responsible for the daily operations of the Transit Service, including the supervision of 20-30 student drivers and 4 managers. Works in conjunction with Brockton Area Transit, reporting monthly rider-ship and fuel reports. Other responsibilities include training of new drivers, covering open shifts, and being on-call when needed. Assist the Associate Director and Transit Manager with daily operation of the Transit Service. Core responsibilities include the coverage of all special service runs each day. The Para-Transit Manager works very closely with the students who are in need of this service and the BSU Student Accessibility Services Office. This position is also responsible for bi-weekly payroll of all transit employees. 
    
Student Transportation Manager:  
Responsibilities include the supervision of student drivers. Core responsibilities include coordinating all athletic/academic trips. Other responsibilities include training of new drivers, covering open shifts, and being on-call when needed. Assist the Operations Manager with the daily operation of the Transit Service along with Day and Night.

Student Day Manager: 
Responsibilities include the supervision of the morning and day shift drivers 7AM-6PM. Core duties include the daily preparation of all BAT buses, BSU buses, and Para-transit vehicles; checking all fluids and fueling as needed. This position works closely and in conjunction with Brockton Area Transit's Maintenance Department along with BSU Maintenance Department. Also works with Night mangers to make sure all buses are ready to go. Assist the Operations Manager with the daily operation of the transit service. 

Student Night Manager: 
Responsibilities include the supervision of the night shift drivers 6PM-12AM. Core duties include the daily preparation of all BAT buses, BSU buses, and Para-transit vehicles; checking all fluids and fueling as needed. This position works closely and in conjunction with Brockton Area Transit's Maintenance Department. Assist the Operations Manager with the daily operation of the transit service as well as being on-call during Nighttime Operation if/when issues arise.
     
Student Assistant Manager: 
Responsibilities include the supervision of student drivers. Core responsibilities include scheduling of bus washes and maintenance rotation. Additional responsibilities include helping other managers in areas when needed.
