Overview

The Apartments Manager (AM) is graduate level staff member of the Office of Residence Life & Housing who is primarily responsible for functionally supervising four Resident Assistants (RAs) on the Great Hill Student Apartments. The AM focuses on providing oversight of the RAs' programming and community development efforts.  The AM assists with the tracking of RA programs and Intentional Interactions.  They also assist with outreach and customer service initiatives targeting residents of the Great Hill Student Apartments.   

The AM provides functional supervision to the student staff for the Great Hill Student Apartments, and the AM reports to the Assistant Director of Residence Life & Housing. 

Compensation

Apartments Manager receives bi-weekly stipend for working twenty hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.  Students receive full tuition and academic fee remission for up to 24 credit hours per academic year during the fall, spring and summer sessions.  Additionally, a complimentary parking pass is provided.

The AM provides functional supervision to the four resident assistants on the Great Hill Student Apartments staff, including but not limited to supporting meditations, budget tracking, program tracking, community meetings, and Room Condition Reports.  Within the academic year, the AM Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of paraprofessional staff members.  The AM supports and promotes student awareness of the residence hall opening and closing plans, including supporting Health & Safety Inspections. The AM must be aware of and enforce University, residence hall, and local/state policies. The Am also support student involvement in the Residence Hall Association and other university sponsored programs/events. Attendance of all staff meetings and professional development sessions as determined by Residence Life and Housing is expected.

Qualifications

Successful Graduate Assistant Apartments Manager candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  1.  Bachelor's Degree Required. 

  1. Applicants must be accepted into one of the University’s graduate programs to be eligible to receive a graduate assistant position.  Preference will be given to students who have applied to and have been accepted into the Counselor Education – Student Affairs or Higher Education Administration program by the College of Graduate Studies application deadline. 

  1. Paraprofessional University residence hall administration and programming experience preferred  

  1. Ability to use and learn computer programs. 

  1. Ability to communicate in written and oral forms.
