Helpful Information for New, Graduate, & Transfer Students

Body

Congratulations on your acceptance to BSU!  Deposits are currently being accepted for Fall 2024!

All students wishing to live on campus must submit a $250 non-refundable housing deposit to secure a space on campus.

Learn more at: Housing Costs & Deposit Payments

New students (including first-year and new transfers) will receive communication from Residence Life & Housing shortly after completing their housing deposit.

Did you have a current BSU student hold a space for you?

Incoming students should complete their license agreement process by the outlined deadline. Please note that the incoming student's gender must match that of the requesting student unless they have been approved for gender-inclusive or rainbow housing.
As that student deposits for the fall and completes their Residence Hall License Agreement, we will assign you to that space that was reserved for you in your suite/room.

Please note: Spaces will only be held until June 1, 2024. If the student has not been accepted to BSU, deposited for housing, or hasn't completed their Residence Hall License Agreement by this day, we will assign another student to that space. The Office of Residence Life and Housing reserves the right to limit the number of incoming students who can select with returning students. We will honor these requests, but it could take up to 48 hours for the reserve account to be created

Tips & Hints

  • Pay attention to deadlines. Reminder emails will be sent regarding important dates.
  • Always have a backup plan.  Don't set your mind to one residence hall or room configuration. Plan multiple options ahead of room selection.
  • Make sure that your group is fully formed prior to selection.
  • Room selections cannot be altered until all students have had an opportunity to select.

Rules & Requirements

  • To participate, students must not have selected a space during another phase of the room selection process (i.e Hold A Space or Returning Student Room Selection)
  • Students may select a room at any time after their selection time is activated
  • Students may fill suites, rooms, or individual spaces depending on their roommate group.  Students are not required to fill a suite or a room during room selection
  • Student may not change their assignment after they finalize their selection
