Passkey is the most secure multi-factor authentication method known as phishing-resistant MFA. These instructions will guide you on how to set up synced passkey on an Android phone to protect your account from bad actors. You will need a computer plus your phone to complete the process. Also, Bluetooth needs to be enabled on both computer and phone for passkey to work properly.
1. First, set Android Autofill to a Cloud Provider
| Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Passwords, passkeys, and autofill > Preferred service > Google |
2. On your computer, open a web browser and go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup
3. Log in with your BSU credentials
4. Click the + Add sign-in method button and select Passkey
5. Click Next, Change, and select iPhone, iPad, or Android device
6. Once the QR code appears, use your phone camera to scan it, tap Create a passkey (your passkey is now saved in Google Password Manager)
7. You can leave the default name as Google Password Manager, click Next, and click Done
