ALL USERS: How to Take a Screenshot (Mac/Windows)

Use the following keyboard shortcuts or methods to capture part or all of your computer screen:

 

🖥️ On Windows

 

Option 1: Snipping Tool (Quick method)

  1. Press Windows + Shift + S

  2. Select the area to capture

  3. Screenshot is copied to the clipboard – paste it with Ctrl + V

Option 2: Snipping Tool App

  1. Search Snipping Tool in the Start menu

  2. Click New

  3. Capture and save or annotate as needed

Option 3: Full Screen

  • PrtScn: Captures full screen to clipboard

  • Windows + PrtScn: Saves full screen to Pictures > Screenshots

 

 

🍎 On macOS

 

Option 1: Capture part of the screen

  • Command + Shift + 4 → Drag to select area → Auto-saves to Desktop

Option 2: Capture entire screen

  • Command + Shift + 3 → Auto-saves to Desktop

Option 3: Capture a window or menu

  • Command + Shift + 4, then press Spacebar → Click the window
