Sometimes you may need to allow third party cookies on your web browser in order to run third party programs properly. Browsers might automatically block cookies as a default setting or users might block third party cookies because they can present a security risk. However, blocking cookies can cause problems. For example, if third party cookies are blocked, the Firefox browser may prevent users from accessing Zoom through Blackboard.
Follow the instructions below for the appropriate web browser to allow third party cookies.
Chrome:
- Select the menu bar by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Click Settings.
- Click Privacy and Security.
- Click Cookies and Other Browsing Data.
- Select Allow all cookies.
Microsoft Edge:
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner for the Settings and more menu.
- Select Settings near the bottom of the menu.
- Select Cookies and site permissions in the menu on the left.
- Select Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Turn on Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended) or scroll down to the Allow section and add any specific sites you where want to enable cookies.
Firefox:
You have two options to allow cookies in Firefox
You can allow cookies on an individual site basis by following these directions:
- Navigate to the website that you need to allow cookies on.
- In the URL address bar, click the shield icon on the left.
- Flip the switch next to “Enhanced Tracking Protection is ON for this site” so that it is turned off.
You can also allow all cookies by following these directions:
- Click the Open Application Menu button with three lines in the upper right corner of the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- On the left-hand side, select Privacy & Security.
- You should see three boxes that read “Standard,” “Strict,” and “Custom.”
- Under Custom, uncheck the box next to Cookies.
Safari:
- On an Apple computer, click Safari in the upper left corner.
- Select Preferences.
- Select Privacy.
- Under Cookies and website data, uncheck the box next to Block all cookies.
