Sometimes you may need to add accommodations for some of your students, such as at the request of the Student Accessibility Services office.
Follow the steps or the video below to find out how to add accommodations for individual students on all assessments in the course:
- In your course, select Roster in the left hand menu.
- Locate the student’s name, click the three dots on the right side of their name, and select Accommodations.
- Select the option you need based on the request:
- Due date accommodation means that the student will never have their work marked late.
- Time limit accommodation allows the student additional time to finish their work. You may specify the amount of extra time by entering a percentage.
- Students with accommodations will have a purple flag icon appear next to their name in the gradebook and the roster. It is only visible to instructors and teaching assistants. When you grade assignments with student names hidden, no indication of accommodations will be shown.
Note: Although the video is 4 years old, the steps remain the same. However, in the current version of Ultra, the Time limit accommodation lets you set any percentage of additional time.
If you need to give a student an exception for a specific assignment -- not accommodations for the entire course -- follow the instructions in this article instead.
