Sharing of Student Information

The Office of Residence Life & Housing is committed to being strong and collaborative partners with parents, guardians, and family members in any effort to make our students more successful during their time at BSU.  Our philosophy is that Residence Life & Housing partners with our students' support network to help them to help their students to successfully help themselves.  Our goals is to support our students, while also assisting them to develop the tools needed to be a successful citizen and productive community member both at BSU and once they graduate.

Residence Life & Housing cannot share any information that is protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).  Most student information is considered confidential with certain exceptions, information from those records may not be released to a student’s parents or guardians without the student’s written consent.  For further information, please see Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
