RHA General Meetings & What to Expect

Meeting Location, Times, & Membership

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) meets every Wednesday at 5pm during the Fall and Spring semester in the Rondileau Student Union (RSU) Room 201, also known as Council Chambers.

You do not need to pre-register or notify us that you are joining - as a resident student, you are already a general body member of RHA by paying your resident student fees!

What to Expect:

Residents sit together based on their residence hall, signified by table signs for each hall on campus. The Executive Board of elected resident students provides updates to the general body on upcoming events, budgets, and involvement opportunities. Resident students can also present to request funds from RHA be allocated for residence hall supplies or programs. The general body votes on whether or not to allocate these funds for the requests. Campus partners, such as Bridgewater Dining or ResNet, are often invited to present on information that may impact resident students. Additionally, each hall competes against one another in mini games throughout the year to win the coveted BristaCup and prizes for their halls!

General body meetings are run using Robert's Rules of Order, and instructions on how to adhere to Robert's Rules are on sheets provided at every meeting.

Hall Representation

When you join a general body meeting, it provides you the opportunity to represent your residence hall, as well as the full resident population on campus. Residents sit with their residence hall (designated by table signs). Residents are then encouraged to ask questions, advocate for changes, and allocate for funds that would improve the residence hall experience. Some examples of this advocacy in action are The Quiet Hours policy, kitchen and game equipment, and large-scale residence hall programs.

RHA's motto is "Your Hall, Your Voice!"
