Ethernet ports are located on the walls of in your dorm, you can identify them by the blue ports. They are INACTIVE by default, and to activate them you must submit a request for it. Once you submit a request, your port will activate within 7 business days and it lasts until the end of the Spring semester. Extra Ethernet cables are located outside of our office at ECC 107 behind the Dunkin near the restrooms.
BEFORE submitting a request please consider:
- Reviewing the Wireless Internet page to ensure your device is connected to the correct network. Using the incorrect network may result in a poor user experience.
- If you need a connection for gaming consoles, we recommend first trying BSU_GameConsoles, which is specifically designed for consoles.
BSU_GameConsoles even provides an open NAT type by default!
- Wired connection requests are typically completed within 3 business days, though requests submitted at the start of a semester may take up to 7 business days.
- PLEASE NOTE: Personal routers are not allowed. They can cause interference with the University’s network and can intrude on other residents’ ability to connect.
IF YOU PLAN ON GAMING OVER WIRED INTERNET:
- Wired connections have a strict NAT type by default
