Microsoft Teams Transcripts: How to set up and view meeting transcripts
This KB article will provide step-by-step instructions for setting up and viewing transcripts of meetings on Microsoft Teams.
- Start the transcript feature during the meeting by selecting “More...” in the top menu bar.
- Hover over “Record and transcribe”
- Select “Start transcription”. You and all meeting participants will see a message pop up in the meeting space indicating that transcription has started.

A few minutes following the end of the meeting, Teams will send in the meeting room chat space a message to everyone that transcripts are available.

In that message, click the “Transcript” icon to view the transcript. You may also see an AI-generated meeting summary option indicated with the purple View recap button. Note: AI generated meeting summaries may contain errors. Always review for accuracy.
