How do I get my new BSU Account

The process for creating new accounts is different based on your role here at BSU. Please see the section, below, that corresponds to your primary role at BSU.

Students

As a student at BSU, you will likely need the following accounts:

  • Ebill - this is where you will view your term bill
  • InfoBear - this is where you will view student records, view available classes, register for classes, and more.
  • BSU User Account - this provides you with access to computers and applications on campus as well as establishes your BSU Student Email account.
  • Blackboard - Do your classes have an online component?  If so, your instructor may be using Blackboard to share course materials and manage course assignments.

If you do not have any active classes for two (3) consecutive semesters (including Summer), your BSU User Account (including email) will be deleted.

Ebill

Once you are accepted, admitted, and send a deposit to confirm you are attending BSU (or have the deposit waived), the Registrar's Office will send your Bear ID number and PIN.
To view Ebill -- select Ebill from the Student Portal site (mybsu.bridgew.edu)  Use the provided 8-digit Banner ID with your 6-digit PIN to access your term bill.

Infobear

Once you are accepted, admitted, and send a deposit to confirm you are attending BSU (or have the deposit waived), you will receive a message (sent to the email address you used in your application) from BSU Accounts containing your Username, Email Address, and initial password. After you have logged in to your BSU email, set up MFA, and changed the password, you should use your BSU email address and Password for full-functionality when accessing InfoBear to register for classes, view your course schedule, use DegreeWorks, etc. (your Bear ID and PIN are not compatible with all InfoBear features).

User Account

The BSU user account provides you with access to public computers in open access labs on campus, email, the campus network, and Blackboard.  Your BSU user account is automatically created for you once you alert the university of your intent to attend.  You will receive a message (sent to the email address you used in your application) from BSU Accounts containing your Username, Email Address, and initial password.. If you did not receive this email when you believe you should have, please check your Junk/Spam folders.
If you still are unable to find the email, contact us

For information on accessing your BSU Email account please see Email: How to Access your BSU Email Account

Blackboard

After you receive the BSU User Account, have officially registered, and can see your course registration(s) in InfoBear, your Blackboard student account is automatically created (within 12 hours of registration). *There is no need to request a Blackboard account.*

While you are automatically enrolled in the course site(s) in Blackboard, faculty members must make the course site(s) “available” for students to view. If you can login to Blackboard, but cannot see your course site(s), the course site(s) may not be available yet for students to view. Check with the Professor.

Employees

As a BSU employee, you will likely need some the following accounts:

  • BSU User Account - this provides you with access to computers and applications on campus, access to department printers and network drives, as well as establishes your BSU Email account.
  • Banner - this is where employees view financial, student, personnel records needed for their job responsibilities.
  • Web for Faculty - this is where faculty and advisers can view student information, submit grades, etc
  • Blackboard - This is the BSU Learning Management System used by faculty for online course materials.

User Account

The BSU user account provides employees with access to campus computers, BSU email, Office 365, training, posting rights to Student Announcements and Community Announcements, software downloads, WVD virtual access when off campus, and access to library databases.

Your BSU user account is automatically created once you complete the hiring process through Human Resources & Talent Management.  You will receive an email with your BSU credentials to the email used for your application.

Banner

Employees who need access to financial, student, or personnel records for job responsibilities may need a Banner Account.  In order to request a Banner Account, you will need to complete the authorization request.  The form can be accessed by going to on IT Forms page and selecting the link to the  Administrative Systems Access Authorization Form. The form is automated and you will need to electronically sign your request before it is routed to your supervisor and then to IT for review.

Web for Faculty

When you are added as a faculty member or instructor for a course by the Registrar's Office, you will be able to view your course information in Web for Faculty.

Web for Faculty & Advisers provides an interactive interface to the administrative database for grading and academic advising. Web for Faculty & Advisers is a completely self-service, web-based solution that provides academic staff with secure access, on-campus or at home, to the information they need to manage course information and advise students.

Blackboard

When the Registrar's Office adds you as a faculty member as an instructor to a course in Banner for the first time, a Blackboard account is automatically created for you.  A department may assign a faculty member to a course but the Blackboard account is not created until the Registrar adds you to the course in Banner.
