All BSU user accounts already have additional security verification configured with a personal or work phone number. This configuration means that you can leverage SMS texts or a phone call as multi-factor authentication (MFA). Once the administrator configures your account for MFA, you will begin getting an SMS text code or a phone call to verify your sign-in. This additional verification only occurs when you are off-campus. Use the steps below to validate that you have the correct phone number listed for MFA.
- Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in to your account with your email address and password. Note: if you have already signed in, please skip to step 3.
- Depending on your account configuration, you may need to verify your sign-in via a phone call or a text message.
- On the Security Info screen, verify your information, click on Change if you need to make any corrections, and then Save any changes.
NOTE: You may see Additional security verification screen instead of Security Info screen (both pictured below), which you can still update your phone number and click Save.
