ALL USERS: Logging into an Individual Claude.ai account

If you have an existing individual account (e.g., a free plan or a Pro, Max 5x, or Max 20x plan) that you originally set up using your BSU Google Workspace credentials, note that as of May 18, 2026, you must use a different sign on method to continue to access your individual account. This article provides log in instructions for those individual accounts. 

If you are interested in a centrally managed account that offers more features, privacy, and security, BSU offers faculty and staff the option to purchase a centrally managed Claude for Work Team plan through the IT division. If your department would like to purchase a paid license of Claude Team, see ALL EMPLOYEES: How do I get a Claude.ai paid license? for instructions.

Please note: Claude personal accounts (Pro, Max 5x, and Max 20x) are not permitted for University use. Anthropic charges sales tax on individual Claude accounts, and they do not allow schools or institutions to submit tax-exempt documentation for those plans. To ensure compliance with University purchasing policies and take advantage of tax-exempt institutional billing, all Claude usage must be through the centrally managed Claude Team license.

Steps to logging into an individual Claude.ai account 

All BSU users log into any and all Claude.ai accounts through Microsoft Entra Single Sign On. ​​​​​

1 | Go to Claude.ai

Note: you may need to log out of Claude.ai if you are automatically logged in.

2 | Enter your BSU email address in the Email your email box and click Continue with SSO.

3 | Enter your BSU credentials.
