Blackboard Professional Development
Bridgewater State University faculty and staff have access to Blackboard Professional Development, an online collection of self-paced courses and micro-lessons available through BSU's institutional subscription.
These resources provide opportunities to explore Blackboard tools, teaching strategies, accessibility, course design, and other professional development topics at your own pace.
What is included?
The Blackboard Professional Development catalog includes training on topics such as:
- Blackboard Course Design
- Accessibility and Universal Design for Learning
- AI Literacy
- Course facilitation and instructional strategies
- Learning design and delivery
- Leadership and professional development
- System administration
- Workplace training
Additional topics and offerings are available, and the catalog may change over time as new professional development opportunities are added.
Requesting access
Access to Blackboard Professional Development is available to BSU faculty and staff.
To request access, please contact the Teaching & Technology Center at ttc@bridgew.edu or submit a TTC support request.
Once your request is received, the TTC will provide the current enrollment information needed to activate BSU's institutional subscription.
Getting started
After receiving enrollment instructions from the TTC:
- Create a Blackboard Professional Development account using your BSU email address.
- Verify your account using the access code sent to your BSU email address.
- Sign in to Blackboard Professional Development and locate the Online Training Subscription: Explore and Enroll offering.
- Use the institutional validation code provided by the TTC to activate BSU's subscription.
When activating the subscription, use the institutional validation code provided by the TTC. You do not need to enter personal payment information.
Once enrolled, you can browse the Blackboard Professional Development catalog, enroll in individual offerings, track your progress, and access available certificates and badges.
