ALL USERS: Where is my Zoom session recording?

Please note that these instructions work only for Zoom meetings recorded to the cloud and not recorded locally to your computer. For instructions on how to record to the cloud, please see Zoom’s Cloud Recording support page.

After you have stopped your Zoom recording and you have closed your zoom meeting, your recording will begin processing and uploading to Zoom’s Cloud Storage. Please be advised: Cloud recordings can take about twice the meeting duration time to process. For example, if your Zoom meeting was one hour long, it could take two hours to process and be stored to the cloud. If there is an unusually high volume of users recording their content, then cloud recordings may require even more processing time.

When the recording is ready, you will get an email from Zoom with information regarding how to access and view your recording. There will be two links in the email; the first will be for the Host only for managing the recording. The second link will be for the participants, which you may share with others.

If you need to access your Zoom recordings on the cloud, follow these steps:

  1. Open a new internet browser tab and go to http://bridgew.zoom.us

  1. Sign in with your BSU account.

  1. On the left side panel click Recordings.

  1. Make sure you are viewing your list of Cloud Recordings by checking the header on the top of that page. Local Recordings are Recordings that you have downloaded directly to your computer (NOTE: we don’t recommend using Local Recordings because these videos can be large file sizes, which take up memory space on your computer. We strongly recommend using cloud recordings).

  1. Your recordings should be listed on this page. If you don’t see your recording yet, it is possible that your video is still processing. Again, be sure to check your email for a message from Zoom which will tell you when your cloud recording is done processing.

  1. Use the “From” and “To” calendars to search for your recordings by date.

Faculty can also access their cloud recordings right in their Blackboard course. Here is how:

  1. Click on your Zoom Tool Link in your Blackboard course.

  1. Click on the tab in the middle of the page that says “Cloud Recordings”.

  1. Select the recording you wish to access.

  1. Note: if you do not see the recording here, please double check that you received an email from Zoom stating your cloud recording was processed. If it hasn’t been too long since you finished your recording, it may take up to a couple of hours to process before the recording is ready. This is somewhat determinant on the length of your recording as well.

Faculty may also be interested in learning more about how to share your Zoom recordings with students from within Blackboard.
