FACULTY: How do I use Mirroring360 to share my mobile device screen on my classroom projection screen?

Mirroring360 - Wireless Projection of your Mobile Device

Mirroring360 enables faculty to mirror the display screen of devices such as an iPad, iPhone, Android Phone or tablet, Chromebook, PC laptop, or Mac laptop to a classroom/meeting space front-end projection screen wire-free. Below are instructions for each device type for getting started with using Mirroring360 for wireless projection.

iPad/iPhone Installation and Use

Mirroring an iPad/iPhone or Mac screen is achieved using Apple's AirPlay™ technology. Search for and install the Mirroring Assist app from the Apple App Store.  During setup, click the red button labeled "I've already setup Mirroring360. Start Mirroring now". Once installed, do the following to use Mirroring360:

  1. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: Click the Mirroring360 icon on the desktop
  2. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Click the Mirroring app icon
  3. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Click the Enter Mirroring ID button in the lower left-hand corner
  4. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Type the 9-digit Mirroring ID found on the Classroom/Meeting Space front-end and click OK
  5. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: A 4-digit password will briefly appear on screen​.  You will use this passcode very shortly
  6. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Depending on your iPad/iPhone model, either finger swipe diagonally down from the top right corner or up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Control Center
  7. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Tap on AirPlay Mirroring  
  8. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Select the name of the computer in the room; i.e. Library 007 will display as Lib007FE
  9. ON THE iPHONE/iPAD: Tap on the room name and you will be prompted for a password.  Type the password from Step 5 and click OK

​Your iPad/iPhone screen will be displayed on the front-end computer and projection screen in the classroom/meeting space. Be sure to log off of the computer after your session is complete.​

Android Phone/Tablet Installation and Use

Install the Mirroring Sender Basic app from the Google Play store. Mirroring Android screens require the installation of Mirroring360 sender onto the compatible Android device.  Once installed, do the following to use Mirroring360:

  1. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: Click on the Mirroring360 icon on the desktop
  2. ON THE ANDROID DEVICE: Launch the Mirroring app 
  3. ON THE ANDROID DEVICE: Click the Mirroring 360 Assist red button in the lower right-hand corner
  4. ON THE ANDROID DEVICE: Type the 9-digit Mirroring ID found on the Classroom/Meeting Space front-end computer into the Mirroring ID box and click the right arrow button
    • ON THE ANDROID DEVICE: Click Start Now
    • ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: A 4-digit password will briefly appear on screen​.  You will use this passcode very shortly
    • ON THE ANDROID DEVICE: Type the password in the password box and click the Start Sharing button
    • ON THE ANDROID DEVICE: Click the Share button to share your screen.  Your Android device is now being shared

​Your Android device screen will be displayed on the front-end computer and projection screen in the classroom/meeting space. Be sure to log off of the computer after your session is complete.

 

Windows PC/Chromebook/Mac Laptop Installation and Use

You must have the Google Chrome browser installed to use Mirroring360 on a Windows PC, a Chromebook, or a Mac Laptop.  Install the Mirroring360 extension via the Chrome Web Store.  Once installed, do the following to use Mirroring360:

  1. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: Click on the Mirroring360 icon on the desktop
  2. ON THE LAPTOP: Open the Chrome Extension on your laptop by clicking on the Mirroring360 icon in the upper right-hand corner of your browser
  3. ON THE LAPTOP: Type the 9-digit Mirroring ID found on the Classroom/Meeting Space front-end computer into the Mirroring ID box and click the right arrow button
  4. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: A 4-digit password will briefly appear on screen. You will use this passcode very shortly
  5. ON THE LAPTOP: Type the password in the password box and click the Start Sharing button
  6. ON THE LAPTOP: Click the Share button to share your screen.  Your laptop screen is now being shared

Your laptop screen will be displayed on the front-end computer and projection screen in the classroom/meeting space.  Be sure to log off of the computer after your session is complete.

Advanced Options

Share Audio/Video to the Classroom Speaker System

To share audio/video from your mobile device to the classroom or meeting space speaker system, first click the "Current Tab" option in the Mirroring360 app on your mobile device before connecting to the classroom or meeting space computer. The browser tab you have open will be designated as the "current tab", and this is the browser tab you should use to play streaming audio/video content. Be advised that there is a very minor amount of "choppiness" to the video streaming quality.

If you plan on sharing other applications on your mobile device, such as a PowerPoint slideshow, you will need to click back on the "Desktop" option in the Mirroring360 app.

Record Your Video Screen

With Mirroring360, you can also create a recording of anything that is being projected wirelessly on screen.  Do the following to initiate a recording:

  1. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: Right-click your mouse on the image of your device screen and click Start Recording  
  2. ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: When you are ready to finish your recording, right-click your mouse on the image of your device screen and click Stop Recording
  3. ​ON THE CLASSROOM COMPUTER: Your recorded video will be saved as a MP4 file to the Videos folder on the computer. 

Share Multiple Video Screens

With Mirroring360, you can display multiple wireless device screens at once on the same projection screen. Simply connect each device using the steps above.
