FACULTY: How does the scoring work in Poll Everywhere's Competitions game?

Poll Everywhere has a gaming feature called "Competitions," similar to Kahoot but with a different scoring system. Here’s how the scoring works:

  • Scoring Mechanism:
    • If the timer is set to 20 seconds, 100 points are deducted every 4 seconds.
    • If multiple participants answer correctly within those 4 seconds, they all receive the same points.
    • For a 10-second timer, 100 points are deducted every 2 seconds.
    • Essentially, the shorter the timer, the more challenging it is for participants to earn the same points.

This makes the game more dynamic and competitive through rewarding quick and accurate responses.
