Poll Everywhere offers a fun and engaging feature called "Competitions", similar to Kahoot, that allows participants to compete in real time. While both tools are quiz-based, Poll Everywhere uses a unique scoring system that rewards speed and accuracy differently.

🧮 How the Scoring Works

Scoring is based on how quickly participants respond within the timer window.

  • For a 20-second timer:

    • 100 points are deducted every 4 seconds

    • Participants who answer correctly within the same 4-second window receive the same score

  • For a 10-second timer:

    • 100 points are deducted every 2 seconds

🔁 In short: The shorter the timer, the more challenging it is to earn the same points as other participants, making the experience more competitive.

This system encourages quick thinking and adds excitement to quizzes by rewarding accurate and fast responses.
