Your professors may assign to you multiple types of assessments with different features on Blackboard. Some features include making the assignment timed or giving multiple attempts.
To complete an assignment from start to finish, follow these directions:
- Click on the assignment in your course.
- View the Details & Information panel that appears with the due date, number of attempts allowed, time limit (if applicable), and any goals and rubric for grading.
- Select Start Attempt or View Assessment, whichever one is in the bottom right corner. Start Attempt is used for timed assignments and will have an additional pop up window to start the timer before you can access the assignment. The timer keeps running even when you aren't actively working on the assignment. View Assessment means that it is not timed and you will be able to Save and Close your work to continue at a later time before the due date.
- Note: Your instructor may require a 6-digit access code. After you type the code, you can open the assignment.
- Complete the assessment.
- When ready, select Submit. If you have any unanswered questions, an alert will appear. You can then submit the assessment or keep working.
