STUDENT: Sharing Version History in a Google Doc

Sharing your Google Doc version history can help professors ensure that your writing is original. In order to hand in a Google Doc with the version history to your professor, follow these steps.

Important: Ensure you write the paper in Google Doc. If not, your professor will not be able to view the version history.

  1. Go to: https://drive.google.com and log in using your BSU email and password
  2. Press the blue "Share" option in the top right.
    1. Under General access, choose “Anyone with the link” and set permission to Editor (Full editing access)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    2. Copy the share link
  3. (Optional) Uncheck "Notify people" unless your professor asks to receive an email notification.
  4.  Submit your Google Doc by pasting the share link to your assignment
    • Do not convert it to a Word document or PDF if you want to keep the version history visible.
