STUDENT: ULTRA: How do I add text for discussions, tests, and other assignments?

When an assignment requires you to add your own written answer, a text editor will appear, as seen below. You can use this text editor to change the formatting of your work and even add math formulas.

It's important to note that any text entered into the text editor will not be saved unless you click Save Draft or Respond. In order to prevent the loss of your work due to an Internet connection loss or software errors, it is suggested that you type in an offline document or text editor, such as Notepad or TextEdit and then copy and paste your work into the text editor.

If you copy and paste from a Microsoft Word document, you will have the option to keep or remove your formatting when you paste your text. If you keep your formatting, it may not appear the same as it does in Word. You also may not be able to remove or add formatting after you paste the text into the editor. If you click remove formatting, all of your formatting will be removed including bullets, numbered lists, indentations, line spacing, centered text, and font formatting and sizing. You will have to reformat the text as you want if desired.
